CAM works in three modes:

  1. CAM automatically records and saves to SD after starting up, without any network, you need to take out an SD card to view through the computer;
  2. CAM itself will send out a WIFI signal, the mobile phone connects to the WIFI signal, you can always view the CAM monitoring screen, but this connection method is only suitable for short distances, open distance within 30 meters;
  3. CAM is connected to the Internet without any distance limit, and the mobile phone can monitor the CAM monitoring picture in real time anywhere in the world.

So even if there is no WIFI network, it can be connected through the SD card or the WIFI signal of the CAM itself.

About connection issues:

  • Requires permission to allow notifications, location, Bluetooth and access to the network.
  • If “Connect Failed” or “Connect is off” is displayed during the connection process, perform the following steps to rectify the fault:

1, the selected WIFI signal is unstable (if it is public WIFI, there will be no Internet)

2, enter the wrong WIFI password.

3, During the configuration of the network, the distance between the mobile phone, CAM and WIFI is too far. (During the configuration of the network, the distance between the mobile phone, CAM and WIFI device should be controlled within 2 meters, and there is no barrier between CAM and WIFI device).

4. Check whether your phone is connected to the Internet(Some phones don't actively switch networks).

5. Restore the CAM to factory Settings, exit the APP, and try again after a few minutes.

6, the above methods have not been solved or which step will not operate, you can contact our after-sales personnel to solve the problem for you.

After the CAM is turned on, the red and blue indicators will be on for 1 minute and then off (the red light blinking indicates that the SD card is not installed, and the long light indicates that the SD card is working; The blue light blinking indicates that the connection to the APP is not successful, and the blue light long on indicates that the connection has been successful, which can be monitored remotely in real time), and the CAMDUCK signal automatically disappears and no longer searches. There will be no indicator light displayed during the recording, so no one will know it is a surveillance CAM.

Note:

1. During the setup process, the camera only supports 2.4G WiFi of the router, and after the setup is complete, the phone can connect to 5G WiFi or use mobile data.

2. The CAMDUCK app only works on mobile phones, not ipads and computers.

1. Connection & Setup Issues

❓ Connect Failed

Connection failure is usually caused by one of the following reasons. Please check them one by one:

  • Incorrect Wi-Fi password
    Make sure the Wi-Fi password was entered correctly during setup.
  • Using a 5GHz Wi-Fi network
    CAM only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi.During setup, your phone must be connected to a 2.4GHz networkAfter setup, your phone may switch to 5GHz Wi-Fi or mobile data
  • Device is too far from the router
    Keep the phone, CAM, and router within 6 feet (2 meters) during setup.
  • Unstable Wi-Fi network
    Public Wi-Fi or networks with device limits may cause setup failure.
    Please try a stable home Wi-Fi network.
  • Phone is not connected to the internet
    Some phones do not automatically switch networks.
    Make sure your phone has an active internet connection.

❓ Connect Timeout

If connection times out, please check the following:

  • CAM is not powered on
    Reconnect CAM to a power source.
  • Router has no internet connection
    Restart your router.
    After the router is fully powered on (about 2 minutes), restart CAM.
  • Wi-Fi name or password was changed
    If your router’s name or password has changed, CAM must be set up again.
  • Phone is offline
    Ensure your phone is connected to the internet.
  • Power outage occurred
    CAM may start faster than the router and fail to find the Wi-Fi signal.
    Simply restart CAM.


 App Permissions & Setup

❓ Cannot enter pairing countdown

The app does not have Local Network permission enabled.
Please enable Local Network access for the app in your phone’s system settings.

❓ Bluetooth pairing does not appear

Please confirm:

  1. Your CAM is a Bluetooth version
  2. Bluetooth permission is enabled for the app
  3. CAM has not already been connected to Wi-Fi
    (Bluetooth pairing will not appear if the device is already set up)

❓ Wi-Fi list is empty

The app does not have Location permission enabled.
Please enable Location access in your phone’s system settings.

❓ Do I need a Micro SD card?

  • Without an SD card
    ✔ Live view only
    ✖ No video recording
  • With a Micro SD card installed
    ✔ Videos can be recorded and saved

❓ Storage reference (128GB SD card):

  • Typical use: ~20 days
  • Low-motion scenes (walls, floors): up to ~40 days
  • High-motion scenes (people, parties): ~10 days

📌 For best performance, we recommend using the official CAM SD card.

4. Using CAM Without Internet

❓ Can CAM work without Wi-Fi?

Yes. CAM supports three operating modes:

  1. Offline Recording ModeAutomatically records to SD card after power-onVideos must be viewed by removing the SD card and using a computer

5. Privacy & Data Security

❓ Does CAM support cloud storage?

No.
To better protect user privacy, cloud storage is disabled.

❓ Is my video data secure?

Yes. We take privacy seriously:

  1. All video data is encrypted during transmission
  2. No cloud storage, reducing the risk of data leaks

❓ Can someone else view my camera?

A third party would need both of the following:

  1. The CAMDUCK App
  2. Your Wi-Fi network name and password

As long as you do not share this information, others cannot access your camera.
